Woodley has a brand new leisure centre with excellent facilities and we make good use of it. But if you want to know what we genuinely love about living here, start with the green spaces.

We run the Dinton Pastures parkrun every Saturday morning at 9am. It regularly attracts between 200 and 300 runners, it is a brilliant course and it is one of our favourite ways to start the weekend. If you prefer something a little more forgiving underfoot, Woodford Park parkrun is a good alternative and there is also the Reading town centre parkrun if you fancy a change of scenery.

Dinton Pastures itself is genuinely one of the great things about living in this part of Berkshire. You can enter from the Woodley side via Sandford Lane or through the Museum of Berkshire Aviation, which has its own car park. We love it for dog walking, for a morning run and for getting the kids out on a weekend. It is the kind of country park you feel lucky to have on your doorstep.

If you enjoy quieter walks, the Oldermore Nature Reserve is well worth exploring and Sandford Nature Reserve behind the Loddon Vale development is another local gem that not everyone knows about. You will often catch us cycling down the lane towards the Heron Ford for a drink in the garden on a sunny afternoon. It is a lovely spot and the kind of thing that makes Woodley feel special.

On the food side, we have been regulars at Food Stasian 茶檔 since it opened and we love the expanded menu it now offers. It brings something genuinely different to Woodley's dining scene. We are also big fans of Jalpari of Woodley, which has recently been renovated and expanded. The food is excellent and the service is always warm. Both are well worth a visit if you are new to the area or thinking about making the move here.
